Chemical Treatments

Since many household products are anti-bacterial, they kill the “good” bacteria that are essential to proper septic tank and system operation. Furthermore, many household products contain bleach and other caustic ingredients that also kill “good” bacteria. By adding live bacteria treatments to your system every month, you can ensure that the bacteria level is sufficient to digest tank materials and keep the contents of your tank in liquid form. The liquid then flows out to your leeching field and exits your system in the manner that nature intended.

The Septic 10 Commandments

  1. Have your septic system serviced and inspected on a regular basis.

  2. Avoid disposal of chemicals and paints down drains or toilets.

  3. Do not put grease and fats down the drain

  4. Conserve water whenever possible.

  5. Check for water leaks and leaking toilets. If found, fix and repair at once.

  6. Do not wash several loads of laundry in a single day, instead spread out washing over a number of days.

  7. Add enzymes and live bacteria to your system to assure continual microbial performance.

  8. Do not dispose of large amounts of food down the drain and limit the use of the garbage disposal.

  9. Do not use the toilet as a trash can.

  10. Call Paul's Septic Service at the first sign of problems
